Terms of Use

Effective August 20, 2026 · Last updated August 21, 2026

These Terms explain the permitted use and limitations of ACH File Converter. The most important point is that this software assists with files—it does not authorize or execute payments.

What do these Terms cover?

These Terms govern access to and use of achfileconverter.com and its ACH/NACHA file converters, generators, validators, viewers, editors, operational tools, and educational content. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use the service?

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms and authorized to act for any organization whose data or payment instructions you handle. The service is not directed to children under 13. If you use it for an employer or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

What does the service do—and not do?

ACH File Converter provides technical software for creating, inspecting, and transforming files. It does not initiate, transmit, clear, settle, return, reverse, approve, or monitor payments. It is not a bank, ODFI, RDFI, ACH Operator, money transmitter, payment processor, law firm, accounting firm, or compliance service.

References to “Nacha” describe a file format and operating-rule ecosystem. The service is independent and is not sponsored, certified, or endorsed by Nacha.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Use only data and accounts you are authorized to handle.
  • Obtain and retain required receiver authorizations, notices, agreements, and records.
  • Confirm SEC codes, transaction codes, effective dates, settlement timing, limits, and bank-specific requirements.
  • Review every output, reconcile totals, use test data first, and obtain approval from your financial institution before production use.
  • Protect source files, downloaded files, devices, credentials, and access to banking information.
  • Comply with applicable law, Nacha Operating Rules, sanctions requirements, contracts, and financial-institution instructions.

What uses are prohibited?

  • Unauthorized debits, fraudulent payments, identity theft, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or unlawful activity.
  • Uploading, processing, or disclosing data without sufficient rights or authorization.
  • Attempting to bypass security, probe infrastructure, distribute malware, scrape abusively, overload the service, or interfere with other users.
  • Misrepresenting generated files as approved, certified, transmitted, or guaranteed by ACH File Converter.
  • Using reversal, return, prenote, micro-entry, masking, editing, or repair functionality to evade rules or conceal unauthorized conduct.

Do the tools provide financial or legal advice?

No. Output, diagnostics, examples, SEC code explanations, return information, and educational content are general technical information. They are not financial, legal, tax, compliance, cybersecurity, or accounting advice. A structurally valid file can still contain incorrect, unauthorized, untimely, or unlawful instructions.

Who owns the service and your data?

The service, design, code, branding, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service for lawful internal purposes.

You retain rights in data you lawfully provide and files generated from it. You are responsible for those data and instructions. If you submit feedback without confidential information, you permit us to use it to improve the service without compensation or obligation.

Are third-party services covered?

The site may link to or depend on hosting, analytics, authentication, communication, or other third-party services. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or decisions.

Can the service change or become unavailable?

Yes. We may add, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, and may restrict access to protect users, infrastructure, or legal interests. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, backward compatibility, or support for every bank specification.

What warranties are disclaimed?

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, bank acceptance, regulatory compliance, or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded.

How is liability limited?

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ACH File Converter and its operator, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business; rejected or duplicate files; delayed, misdirected, unauthorized, or failed payments; bank fees; returns; penalties; or claims arising from reliance on output. Rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited remain unaffected.

What happens if these Terms change?

We may update these Terms for product, operational, or legal changes. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

How can you contact us?

Questions about these Terms may be sent to hello@achfileconverter.com. Do not send live ACH files or banking information.
